Mildred Louise Cherry, 94, Nevada, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born June 6, 1915 in Strafford, Mo., to Jack Archer and Mary Coffman Archer. She was married March 12, 1934, in Fort Scott, to Murl Thomas Cherry and he preceded her in death Oct. 24, 1966.

Mrs. Cherry was born and raised in Southwest Missouri and spent most all of her adult life in Vernon County, Mo. She owned and operated Mode-O Day clothing store in Nevada for many years, and later worked at the Nevada State Hospital retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Nevada First Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Jack Cherry, Buffalo, Mo., and Tom Cherry, Tuscumbia, Mo.; two daughters, Kathryn Carroll, Bartlesville, Okla., and Bid Quarton Conway, Carthage, Mo.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, and one sister, Fern Galloway.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at Newton Burial Park in Nevada.
