April 28

An accident occurred at 12:10 p.m., at Cedar and Cherry, involving tractor/trailer driven by James J. Dent, of Walnut, Kan., and a parked SUV owned by Jason Ring, of Sheldon. No injuries were reported. The accident occurred while the Dent vehicle was making a left turn into an alley and the trailer struck the Ring vehicle.

A burglary was reported in the 100 block of West Hunter, made by Downtown Storage, of Nevada. Copper pipe was reported stolen. A male was picked up in connection with the incident. The case will be forwarded to the Vernon County prosecutor.

April 29

A vehicle theft was reported in the 1000 block of North Missouri, made by Sands Auto, of Nevada. A dark metallic red Roke Shanghai 150 CC motorbike was reported stolen.

An accident occurred at 2 p.m., at Vinyard's parking lot, involving a pickup driven by Kerri M. Barnes, of Nevada, and a parked car owned by Lloyd D.N. Pierson, of Nevada. No injuries were reported.

An accident occurred at 4:44 p.m., at West and U.S. 54 Highway, involving a pickup driven by Roger C. Shafer, of Nevada, and an SUV driven by Brooke N. Silvola, of Nevada. No injuries were reported.

April 30

An accident occurred at 2:28 p.m., at Walnut and West, involving a pickup driven by Angelina M. Claypool, of Nevada, and a pickup driven by Susan A. Braun, of Nevada. No injuries were reported.

May 1

An accident occurred at 11:47 p.m., at U.S. 54 Highway and Washington, involving a car driven by Debbie L. Kerns, of Nevada, and a pickup driven by Eugene N. Troll, of Deerfield. No injuries were reported.

An accident occurred at 5:16 p.m., at U.S. 71 Highway and Allison, involving a pickup driven by Dirk T. Jennings, of Nevada, and a van driven by Galen T. Gazaway, of Nevada. Galen and Rebecca Gazaway were both listed with probable but not apparent injuries. The accident occurred while both vehicles were traveling northbound on U.S. 71 Highway. The Gazaway vehicle was struck by the vehicle behind it while making a left turn.

May 2

An accident occurred at 9:42 a.m., at Radio Springs Park, involving an SUV owned by Glenda Piatt, of Nevada. The unoccupied vehicle was located in the late at Radio Springs Park. Damage was also found to the grass area. No injuries were reported. The case is still under investigation.
