May 3

An accident occurred at 4:45 p.m., at U.S. 54 Highway and Adams, involving a car driven by James H. Fields, of Bronaugh, and a truck driven by Clint Page, of Clever, Mo. No injuries were reported.

May 4

An accident occurred at 4:40 a.m., at U.S. 71 Highway and Business 71 Highway, involving a pickup driven by Timothy T. Daniels, of Lamar. Daniels reported he was traveling southbound on U.S. 71 Highway when a deer ran out in front of him causing him to swerve, sliding off the side of the roadway striking a MoDOT sign post. No injuries were reported.

An accident occurred at 6:05 p.m., at Business 71 Highway and Twins Drive, involving a car driven by Joey T. Martin, of Nevada, and an SUV driven by Toni M. Chadd, of Milo. Martin was listed with probable but not apparent injuries.

A burglary was reported in the 600 block of North Ash, called in by Darron Johnson, of Nevada. He reported tools stolen.

May 5

A vehicle was reported stolen in the 500 block of North Adams, called in by Krista Ford, of Nevada. She reported a 1997 green Chevrolet two-door Cavalier with Missouri license plate number CB2-B9D stolen.

A petty theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the 500 block of West Hunter, called in by Kathryn Fitzpatrick, of Nevada. She reported a wallet and contents stolen.

A tampering with motor vehicle was reported in the 300 block of West Lee, called in by Justin Caldwell, of Nevada. He reported change and center console stolen. The items were located by Nevada police. One male was picked up in connection with the incident. The case was referred to the Vernon County prosecutor.
