Frankie was born July 11, 1920, in Milo, Mo., to Frank and May (Slates) Carter. Frankie and Hobert owned and operated the Montevallo Grocery Store for 15 years before moving to Lamar in 1960. She was a wonderful homemaker who showed generous hospitality to friends, family, and even the stray animals fortunate enough to find their way to her doorstep. She volunteered at Good Samaritan and will be remembered by many for her warm smile and kind touch.
