Thomas Augusta Haley, 80, Nevada, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at his home following a heart attack. He was born Nov. 8, 1929, in Lonoke County, Ark., the son of Edward Haley and Susie Isbell Haley. Thomas married Velma Hansell in 1952. They later divorced. He married Wanda Wyckoff Daniels on April 22, 1996, in Harrison, Ark. Thomas worked for the Darby Ship Yards in Kansas City and later for the Kansas City Missouri School District, from which he retired. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1951 to 1953. He was a member of the Community Christian Church in Fort Scott and was active in the 55 Plus Class. His hobbies included camping and dancing.

Survivors include his wife Wanda, of the home in Nevada; two daughters, Beverly Haley, Boston, Mass., and Tina Arney and husband, Chuck, Lee's Summit, Mo.; two step-sons, Lawrence Daniels and wife, Connie, Nevada, and Dr. Paul Daniels and wife, Sherrie, Moundville, Mo.; three step-daughters, Janet Murphy and husband, Pat, Fort Scott, Janice Williams and husband, Garen, and Liz Lechman and husband, Van, all of Nevada. Also surviving is a brother, Clarence "Dick" Haley, San Diego, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Charles Daniels and a brother, Harry Haley.

The Rev. Kevin Moyers will conduct graveside services at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 25, in the U. S. National Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Olson Frary Burkhart Post No. 1165 VFW. Friends may meet at the Cheney Witt Chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Memorials are suggested to Show Me Youth Home and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
