Jason Lee Gardner

Jason Lee Gardner, 27, Richards, Mo., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, in Bourbon County. Jason was born Nov. 14, 1982, in Chillicothe, Mo., to Richard Lee Gardner and Sharon Kay McWilliams Gardner.

Jason grew up in Metz and Nevada. He attended Metz School and graduated from Nevada High School in 2000. Following high school, Jason joined the U.S. Marine Corps in August 2000, where he served for six years before being honorably discharged in 2006. He was currently employed by the PWSD No. 4 of Bates County, out of Rich Hill, Mo. He was loved by all those that knew him.

Survivors include his parents, Dick and Sharon Gardner, of the home in Horton, Mo.; two sisters, Tonia Nichols, Chillicothe, Mo., and Becky Gardner, Nevada; paternal grandmother, Pat Gardner, Nevada; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nichols, Chillicothe, Mo.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and honorable friends, Larry and Debbie Balk.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Barrett Case officiating. Interment will follow in Balltown Cemetery, Horton, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home and the family receives friends from 7-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
