Afton J. Cowen - Chad G. Brown

Larry and Sondra Cowen, of Fort Scott, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Afton Janelle Cowen, to Chad Gregory Brown, son of Greg and Lena Brown, of Fort Scott, and Martin and Jenet Hill, of Nevada.

Afton is a 2005 graduate of Fort Scott High School. She graduated from Pittsburg State University in 2009, with a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Science with Emphasis in Early Childhood Development. She is owner and operator of The Zoo Crew, LLC., a daycare facility for pre-school children.

Chad is a 1996 graduate of Fort Scott High School. He completed training at Missouri Welding Institute in 1997, and is currently employed by the city of Fort Scott Street Department as leadman.

The couple will be married on Nov. 13, 2010, in the First Presbyterian Church, Fort Scott.
