Dewey Milo Rumfelt

Dewey Milo Rumfelt, 88, Nevada, formerly of Walker, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. He was born Dec. 11, 1922, in Wolf Lake, Ill., to William Perry Rumfelt and Fulva Octavia Freeman Rumfelt. He married Lois Ruth Cheek Dec. 31, 1965, and she survives of the home.

Mr. Rumfelt grew up in Illinois. He was an iron worker for 40 years and was a member of the Iron Workers Union Local No. 10 in Kansas City, Mo. Dewey served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the USS Kearny. He has lived in this area since 1977.

In addition to his wife Lois, survivors include two sons, Dewey Rumfelt, Fair Play, Mo., and Jason, Junction City, Kan.; one daughter, Amy Rumfelt, Nevada; one step daughter, Tracy Travis, Mountain Grove, Mo.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, Wednesday, between 10 and 11 a.m.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 23, at Lakewood Park Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
