Carol Jean Walker

Carol Jean Walker, 59, Nevada, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, in Webb City, Mo., following a lengthy illness. She was born March 1, 1952, in Yakima, Wash., to J. W. Johnson and Anna Tandberg Johnson.

Carol was born and raised in Washington state. She moved to this area in 1986. Carol worked at a variety of jobs in her life including restaurateur, home health care, and waitressing. She was a member of the Church of The Nazarene in Nevada. Carol completed her 12 step recovery in Alcoholics Anonymous and has remained a member since.

Survivors include her children, Charie Sands and her husband, David, Brookline, Mo., Christina Dille and Bill Walker, both of Nevada, Mo., Anna Lusk and her husband, Joe, Walker, Mo., Jim Walker and his wife, Stephanie, Webb City, Mo.; her grandchildren, Megan and Ryan Sands, Shane, Shawn and Scottie Dille, Kara, Gavin and Molly Walker, Crestin and Brylee Lusk, and Peyton and Kylee Walker. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Shawnta Renee Walker.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 4, at Moore Cemetery, Nevada, with the Rev. Mike Satterlee officiating. Friends may call now and until 1:45 p.m., Friday, and the family receives friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m., Friday, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
