Mary Berniece (Snow) Bell

Mary Berniece (Snow) Bell, 78, of Nevada, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011. She was born on Sept. 1, 1932, in Adrian, Mo., to Columbus M. Snow and Lucy E. Rideniour Snow. She was married to Wilbur D. Bell on July 27, 1952, and he preceded her in death on March 23, 2002. Berniece attended the Prairie City Elementary School in Bates County and graduated from the Rockville High School in 1951. Berniece and Wilbur spent most of their married life in Independence, Mo., where she worked as a school secretary for Truman High School for many years along with various other jobs. She and Wilbur came to Nevada in 1987. She has been a volunteer for the Nevada Regional Medical Center Auxilary, worked as an elementary school aid, and has worked for Wal-Mart as a greeter for the past eight years. Berniece taught doll classes, made dolls and was a member of the Sante Fe Trails Doll Club in Independence, Mo. Berniece was a member of the First Christian Church in Nevada.

Survivors include one sister, Irene Robinson and her husband, Frank, of Carrollton, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two brothers-in-law, M.T. Black and his wife, Thelma, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Joe Bell and his wife, Evelyn, of Schell City, Mo. In addition to her husband, Wilbur, she was preceded in death by one son, Ricky D. Bell in 2002.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, March 21, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Interment will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, at the Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
