Wanda Lucille Wright, 89, Bronaugh, Mo., passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011, at Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada, Mo., following an illness of several weeks. She was born Dec. 10, 1921, in Bronaugh, to Lewis Henry Smith and Lucy Mae Hawkins Smith. She married Robert S. Wright on Sept. 2, 1944, in Fort Scott, Kan., and he preceded her in death on April 21, 1971.

Lucille was born and raised in the Bronaugh area and spent virtually her entire life there. She graduated from Bronaugh High School in 1938 and later attended Draughon's Business College. She worked for a time as a cook for the Bronaugh Schools and later as a bookkeeper for MFA, but generally considered herself to be a farm wife and a homemaker. She was a member of the Good Cheer Club, Bronaugh Christian Church, and was always active in 4-H, church, and helped many years with the Bronaugh Fall Festival.

Survivors include one son, Kent Wright, Bronaugh; one daughter, Kay Montee and her husband, Gerald Montee Jr., Arcadia, Kan.; son-in-law, Bob Reese, Harrison, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Rob Wright, Seneca, Mo., Whitney Roark, Seneca, Mo., Bruce Reece, Harrison, Ark., Barry Reese, Harrison, Ark., Brent Reese, Harrison, Ark., Anna Heuer, Harrison, Ark., Adam Montee, Arma, Kan., Ashley Roozbahan, Nashville, Tenn., and Aaron Montee, Midland, Texas; seven great-grandchildren; and close friend, Joanne Senkevich, Bronaugh. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Ann Reese; and one brother, Elmo Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 12, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada, with the Rev. Mike Buckamneer officiating. Interment will follow in Worsley Cemetery, Bronaugh. Friends may call now and until the hour of service. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Monday, April 11, at the funeral home.
