Ronald Clive Smith, 94, Wenatchee, Wash., passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at the Rehabilitation Center of Independence, Independence, Mo. He was born April 8, 1917, in Butler, Mo., to Howard W. Smith and Martha Estella Wix Smith. He married Laudell Dahmer on Feb. 14, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo., and she survives of the home in Wenatchee.

Ronald was a graduate of Butler High School and attended Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. He was a lifelong minister in the Community of Christ Church, serving as an elder for his entire adult life. Ronald worked for ALCOA for 27 years in Wenatchee, Wash., and had lived in Wenatchee since 1949.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Laudell, include four daughters, Carolyn Beckham, Independence, Mo., Donna Ingram and her husband, James, Independence, Mo., Fran Smith, East Wenatchee, Wash., and Pam Ash and her husband, Jim, Liberty, Mo.; six grandchildren, Vicki Benson, Jeffrey Beckham, Jennifer Imhoff, Benjamin Ingram, Cassandra Ash and Lisa Ash; five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Delbert D. Smith, Hubert Smith, Marion Smith and Wilbur Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 28, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with J.D. Ingram and Jim Ash officiating. Friends may call now and until 12:30 p.m., Saturday, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
