Maudie Dulin

Maudie Dulin was a lady in every sense of the word. She was quiet and shy, but made friends easily. She was devoted to her two children, James and Betty, whom she raised by herself after their father died in May 1959. She loved each grandchild, great-grandchild and great-great-grandchild. There was nothing more important to her than her family.

She was born on Jan. 30, 1928, in Barber County, Ala., to Effie and Laborn Austin. She lived most of her life in Phenix City, Ala. She married the love of her life, James Edward Dulin Sr. on May 6, 1945. She moved to Columbus, Ga., with her son, James and later moved to Independence, Mo., to be with her children before moving to Schell City.

Maudie moved to Schell City several years ago and found it humorous that most people referred to her as Jenny's grandmother or Chris or Courtney's great-grandmother. She enjoyed her walks

through the streets of Schell City and the time she spent with the Quilt Guild. She loved the time she spent making quilts for the members of her family. She was a Kansas City Chiefs fan and watched each game showed on t.v., whether they won or lost.

She is now in heaven with her husband; mother and father; twin brother; and two sisters. She will be missed by her family and friends and each know their lives were touched by a very special lady.

Graveside services for Maudie Dulin are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Schell City.

Memorial contributions are suggested to a Maudie Dulin memorial fund to benefit Barton County Hospital in Lamar, Mo.

Arrangements for Mrs. Dulin are being entrusted to the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral home in Schell City.
