Robert Leroy Pritchett, 80, Nevada, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, Kan., following a recent illness. He was born Feb. 7, 1931, in Kansas City, Mo.

Robert was born and raised in Kansas City, Mo., and served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed on an aircraft carrier toward the end of World War II. Following his time in the service, he lived in Kentucky working in the mines and also for the railroad. He moved to this area in 1969 and worked for a number of years at the Nevada State Hospital retiring in 1989.

Survivors include one son, Billy Pritchett, and his wife, Shelley, Richards, Mo.; and one granddaughter, Tiffany Marie Pritchett, also of Richards, Mo. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 23, at National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kan., with the Rev. Terry Mosher officiating.

Friends may call now and until 1 p.m., Friday, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, and the family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, between noon and 1 p.m., prior to the funeral service in Fort Scott.
