David Neil Gardner

David Neil Gardner, 58, of Nevada, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at St. Louis University Hospital.

David was born in Kirksville, Nov. 17, 1953, a son of the late Roma (Alexander) and Charles Gardner. On June 24, 1978, he was united in marriage to Barbara Hollandsworth in Rosebud. He was employed at 3M in Nevada as a senior engineering technologist and retired in 2009 after 30 years. He was a member of the Ranch Rider Club at Cloud Nine Ranch Club, Inc., 3M Club of Nevada, the National Rifle Association, and the Vernon County People for Pets.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roma (Alexander) and Charles Gardner and one sister, Gwenn Gardner.

His survivors include his wife, Barbara (Hollandsworth), and Princess Riley of Nevada; sister, Gayla Gibbs of Nevada; brothers and sisters-in-law Melvin and Sandy Hollandsworth of Granite City, Ill., and Douglas and Debbie Bossaller of Nevada; and nephews, Robert and wife Sarah Hollandsworth, Joshua and wife Angel Bossaller, Colby Gibbs, and Corrie Bossaller; and great-niece, Kadance Bossaller.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with the Rev. Terry Knight officiating. Burial was in Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville.

Arrangements were under the direction of Gottenstroeter Funeral Home.
