Donald Lee Hendrix

Donald Lee Hendrix, 86, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at his home in Utica, Ky. He was born on Feb. 13, 1925, in Nevada, Mo., to the late Merrit and Myrtle Hendrix. He retired as a carpenter for Local Union No. 61 and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, horses and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Ann Hendrix in December 1999, and by a brother, Pete Hendrix in 1962.

He is survived by three sons, Greg Hendrix (Janice) of Utica, Ky., Stephen Hendrix (Sandra) of Jerico Springs, Mo., and Forest Hendrix of Texas; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Micki Andrews of Nevada.

Services are at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 5, at Harvest Baptist Temple in Owensboro, Ky. Visitation is from 4 -8 p.m., Wednesday, at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro and from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m.,Thursday, at the church. Burial will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, in Noland Cemetery in Galena, Mo.
