Bernice Odessa Hall, 78, Nevada, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at the Barone Alzheimer's Care Center in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born March 12, 1933, in Mount Vernon, Mo., to George Alonzo Powers and Harriet Odessa Butler Powers. She was married to Don Lusk who preceded her in death in 1976, and later married Claude Hall and he also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hall was born in Lawrence County and spent most of her life in Missouri. She worked at a variety of jobs, including nursing, waitressing and working as a seamstress. She has spent the past 42 years living in Vernon County, Mo. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and the Nevada Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include one son, Dan Lusk, Mound City, Kan.; four daughters, Susan Green, Mound City, Kan., Lois "Jerry" Lusk, Schell City, Mo., Lisa Lusk Simons, Schell City, Mo., and Cristina Garzee, Osceola, Mo.; numerous stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; one brother, Marlin Powers; and one sister, Wilma Stiles, both of the state of Oregon. She was preceded in death by one son, Donnie; one daughter, Mary; three grandchildren, Jamie, Donna and Beverly; and her companion, Bob Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Bar-H Boys Ranch, with the Rev. Dallas Peterson officiating. Interment will be at Green Mound Cemetery in Harwood, Mo.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
