Geneva Orvilla Belcher

Geneva Orvilla Belcher, 95, Nevada, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. She was born Nov. 27, 1916, in Rockville, Mo., to Dempsey Bain and Elsie Ray Thompson Bain.

Geneva was born in Rockville and spent most all of her life in Nevada. She worked for many years as a beautician and later also worked for a number of years as a med-tech at Nevada Manor. She was an avid Nevada Tiger football fan.

Survivors include three sons, Darrell Belcher, Oswego, Kan., Donald Belcher, Nevada, and Duane Belcher, St. Louis, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Donnalee Simpson; one great-great-granddaughter, Cherish Belcher; and two brothers.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 9, at Deepwood Cemetery, Nevada, with Dr. William Cox officiating. Friends may call now and until 12:30 p.m., Friday, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada, and the family receives friends from 7-8 p.m., Thursday, March 8, at the funeral home.
