Linda Louise Edmiston

Linda Louise Edmiston, 73, of Nevada, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at her home. Linda was born on Sept. 28, 1938, in Nevada to Wayne and Ruby Pryor Spillman. On June 10, 1962, she was married to Jack Vernon Edmiston and resided in Nevada for her lifetime.

Linda was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1956. She later attended Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield. Linda enjoyed playing in several bridge clubs, organizing social events, making decorative items, and visiting with friends and family. She also enjoyed tennis and her lifelong passion for dancing. Memberships include the Diana's MFWC, Chapter KK of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Research Club, and Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Linda was a member of the Nevada Country Club and First Christian Church.

Survivors in addition to her husband, Jack, include three children, Mark Edmiston of Lee's Summit, David Edmiston and his wife, Heather, of Atlanta, Ga., along with their children David, Charlie, and Beck and Suzy Owens and her husband, Troy of Charlotte, N.C., and their children Lindsay and Rhys. Other survivors include her mother, Ruby Spillman; her brother, Steve Spillman and his wife, Janice Preston, of Mission Viejo, Calif.; her sister, Judy Thomson of Lake Forest, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; an infant daughter; and her sister, Suzy Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., today, at Ferry Funeral Home. The family will have a private committal at a later date.

Because of Linda's love of flowers, the family welcomes floral arrangements. Contributions in her memory may also be made to the Deepwood Cemetery Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
