Katherine Penrod

Katherine Penrod, 73, Nevada, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012, at her home, following an illness of a few weeks. She was born Feb. 2, 1939, in Stover, Mo., to George Simon McClure and Berniece Marie Hinken McClure. She was married to Charles Kenneth Penrod and he preceded her in death in November 1990.

Katherine was born and raised in Stover. She attended nurses' training and was an RN for more than 40 years. Katherine has lived in Nevada since 1981. She loved her children and grandchildren very much.

Survivors include two sons, Warren McClure and his wife, Kimberly, Alaska, and Charles Penrod and his wife, Amie, Springtown, Texas; four daughters, Dianna McClure, Nevada, Brenda Penrod, Nevada, Bonnie Smith, Pittsburg, Kan., and Coletta Penrod, Nevada; 18 grandchildren, Tara, Jordan, Warren, Dakota, Daniel, Katrina, Charles, David, Andrea, Warren, Tommy, Thorne, Skylar, Dakin, Melana, Tristan, Raven, and Emma Jo; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Katie, Conner, Ava, and Pilot; and one brother, Warren McClure, Detroit, Mich. She was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Summer Lynn Blum.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 20, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
