Lyle Wayne Hoener, 77, a resident of rural Fort Scott, Kan., died Thursday, June 21, 2012, at his home. He was born Oct. 1, 1934, in Quincy, Ill., the son of George Hoener and Alice Ralph Hoener. He married Connie Louderman on Nov. 15, 1959, at Colchester, Ill. The couple moved to Fort Scott in 1979. Lyle had worked in the trucking industry, but primarily operated his own ranch, Runnin' Bear Ranch, located northwest of Fort Scott. He enjoyed horses and antique tractors as well as going on trail rides.

Survivors include his wife, Connie, of the home; his four children, Cathy Sturgeon, Fort Scott, Kan., Dean Hoener and wife, Rhonda, Hepler, Kan., Jeannie Good, Wellsville, Kan., and Roy Hoener, Fort Scott. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Tamalei Rice and husband, Trey, Kyla Good, Chism Hoener, George Chance Hoener, Dalton Good and Gabe Good; and a great-granddaughter, Kailynn Rice. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; a sister; and a daughter-in-law, Laura Hoener.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 25, at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Centerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Care of Kansas and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S.
