Clark Hillsman, 76, of El Dorado Springs, Mo., the son of William Albert and Florence Edna (Endicott) Hillsman was born April 4, 1936, in Schell City, Mo., and passed from this life on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

Clark attended school briefly in the Schell City area before he and his family moved to Rockville, Mo., where he continued his education. When his father suddenly passed away, Clark worked to help support the family at Heiman's in Rockville, Mo. He then moved to Kansas City, Mo., where he began employment as a steel mill worker at Brown-Strauss Steel.

On Oct. 16, 1958, Clark was united in marriage to Marie Darline Schuman in Miami, Okla., and to their union two children were born. Just four months after their marriage, Clark was drafted into the United States Army serving his country on active duty from 1959 to 1961 then remained in the Reserves until being honorably discharged in 1965. He worked a total of 19 years at the steel mill.

In 1973, Clark and Marie along with the children moved to El Dorado Springs, Mo., to be near Marie's family and settled on a small farm. While living in El Dorado Springs, Clark worked for a short time for Fred Wosoba and also worked for about three years for Doc Bender. He was then hired by the 3M Company in Nevada, Mo., and retired from there in 1998 after 22 years of employment.

In what spare time he had he enjoyed carpentry, fishing, rabbit hunting, and camping and in the last several years he and Marie had enjoyed traveling. He especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending as much time with them as he could.

Survivors include his wife Marie of the home in El Dorado Springs; one daughter, Rose Marie Mott and her husband, Jim, of El Dorado Springs; one son, Michael Clark Hillsman and his wife, Toni, of El Dorado Springs; one brother, James Hillsman of Warrensburg, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Jessica Marie Houts, William Clark Houts, Joshua Michael Dampier, Brice Corbin Mott, Christopher James Mott, Rebecca Rose Hillsman and Nica Nicole Hillsman; three great-grandchildren, Seth Alexander Householder, Kellen Clark Edwards and Zane Warren Prock; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Clark was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clyde and Clarence; two sisters, Twila and Annabelle; and his granddaughter, Ashley Marie Hillsman.

Graveside services with interment and military honors will be held at 2 p.m., today, June 30, at the Rockville Cemetery, Rockville, Mo., with the Rev. Connie Locke officiating. Musical selections were provided by Suzanne Gladden. Pallbearers were Christopher Mott, Brice Mott, Jimmy Loane, Joshua Dampier, William Houts and James Edwards. Memorials are suggested to Sac Osage Home Health in El Dorado Springs, Mo.

Arrangements for Mr. Hillsman were entrusted to the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home in Schell City, Mo.
