Ruth M. "Peaches" Webb

Ruth M. "Peaches" Webb, 96, Nevada, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, in Nevada, with her family present. She was born June 29, 1916, in Kansas City, Mo., to Charles Albert Mundell and Annabelle Foster Mundell. She married Elford William "E.W." Webb on June 20, 1937, in Nevada, and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2009.

Peaches was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1934. She attended the DeLasalle Business College in Kansas City, Mo. She worked for Hartzfelds Department Store on the Plaza in Kansas City for a number of years. Following the end of World War II, she worked as a civilian for the U.S. Navy decommissioning U.S. naval ships. Peaches was a former member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Nevada.

Survivors include two sons, Dick Webb and his wife, Sharon, Walker, Mo., and Jack Webb and his wife Susan, Nevada; one daughter, Dana Webb, Nevada; five grandchildren, Tyria Thoreson, Tanya Webb, Troy Webb, Jennifer Webb, and Lindsey Webb; and three great-grandchildren, Justin Radspinner, Judi Thoreson, and Mary Thoreson.

A private graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 1, at Newton Burial Park, with the Rev. David Rorabaugh officiating.
