NEVADA -- The Nevada Lady Tigers varsity volleyball squad evened its record at 1-1 Thursday with a victory over the Lady Wildcats of Harrisonville at Nevada Middle School.

Regan Kannady and Sharla Quick each had five kills on the night and the Lady Tigers took the match in two sets, by the final scores of 25-19 and 25-15. Quick led the Lady Tigers in digs on the night and served three aces, while Morgan McNeley recorded 13 assists and Rilie Good had four blocks.

The Lady Tigers had similar success in the freshman and junior varsity matches on the night as well, taking the freshman match in two sets and the JV in three. Final scores for the freshman were 25-22 and 26-24 and the JV lost the opener, 25-23, before rebounding to win the next two, 25-8 and 25-17.

"It was a great night for all three teams," Lady Tigers head coach Ashley Thoreson said. "After all our teams losing Monday night, we had a couple days to practice and work on a few things and we came ready to play. We did a much better job of minimizing our errors and having ball control. ... I am very proud of the way we played."

The Lady Tigers will have a bit of a wait before being able to see if they can keep the momentum going as the next match on the schedule is set for next Thursday, when the Lady Tigers host Liberal in a varsity/JV doubleheader, starting at 5 p.m.
