IOLA, Kan. -- The Cottey College Comets volleyball team went back out on the road Friday to take on Allen County Community College and came home with less than favorable results.

Allen County won the match in three sets by the final scores of 25-10, 25-12 and 29-27. Lauren Johnson led the Comets with four aces, while Hannah Wilson recorded 10 assists. Erica Phillips added a team-high five blocks and Kymee Bair recorded 11 digs.

"Allen County didn't make a large amount of unforced errors in any of the sets, but we sure worked a lot harder to compete with them in the last set," Comets head coach Marla Kannady Foreman said. "I am happy to know that my players are capable of working through their hard times, so now we need to learn how to do it sooner."

The Comets are scheduled to be back in action on Friday, when they return to Hinkhouse Center to take on Baptist Bible College at 6:30 p.m.
