Susie Leona "Micki" Vandenburg, 82, Nevada, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at Webb City Nursing and Rehabilitation, Webb City, Mo. She was born July 10, 1930, in Chanute, Kan., to John Robert Stone and Susie Gertrude Meighen Stone. She married Glen Vandenburg Sr. on Feb. 14, 1955, in Nevada, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1988.

Micki was born in Chanute, Kan., and moved to Missouri at the age of 3. She came to Nevada when she was 16 years old and lived most of the remainder of her life here. Micki worked as a waitress at the White Grill in Nevada for 32 years. She enjoyed needlework, crocheting and reading. Micki was a member of the First Baptist Church, Nevada.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Ray Barrett, state of Texas, and Glen Dale Vandenburg Jr., Joplin, Mo.; three daughters, Rita Kay Gibson, state of Nebraska, Alice Sue Gibson, New York City, N.Y., and Tammi Patterson, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pearl Kimzey, Nevada, and Bessie Bradley, state of California; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers, Francis Stone, Alfred Stone, John Stone Jr., Jerry Stone and James Stone; and two sisters, Ella Miler and Dortha Payton.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Moore Cemetery, Nevada, with the Rev. Hubert Fox officiating. Friends may call now and until 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
