The Cottey College Comets had little trouble getting their sixth win of the season as they rolled over Ozark Christian College Tuesday night by a final score of 104-36.

Cottey awoke from its shooting slump three days earlier. On Saturday, the Comets could only muster 46 points throughout the entire game against Southwest Iowa.

Against OCC, the Comets had 49 points by the end of the first half and led, 49-23. The second half was even more dominant for the Comets as they owned the final 20 minutes, 55-13.

Five Cottey players ended the evening in double figures, led by Dayna Turbull's 22 points. Caryli Ingles and Selena Gochenour each had 16 points, Blaklee Sanders had 12 and Cassie Hale added 10.

As a team, the Comets' work on the boards paid off as they had 32 second-chance points, compared to six for the Lady Ambassadors.

Overall, the Comets had a total of 49 rebounds, with 30 of those coming on the offensive end. The Comets' pressure defense also came up with 30 steals on the night.

The win kept the Comets' record at a perfect 6-0 on the year. Next up is a road trip to Fayette, Mo., on Friday, to take on the Central Methodist College junior varsity squad.

That game is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m.
