June E. Flint

June E. Flint, 93, Nevada, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at Christian Health Care in Nevada following a lengthy illness. She was born on June 1, 1910, in Ketterman, Mo., to Benjamin Thompson and Nellie Jane Forkner Thompson. She married Harry Flint on June 3, 1931, in Kansas City, Kan., and he preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1989.

June was born and raised in Vernon County but lived most of her adult married life in Overland Park, Kan. She returned to Nevada 20 years ago and spent the remainder of her life here. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Nevada, the Salvation Army Relief Corps and also a member of the Roadrunners Camping Club.

Survivors include three daughters, Verna Keller and her husband Phil, Tucson, Ariz., Shirley Holland, Nevada, Mo., and Nancy Scism and her husband Dale, Nevada, Mo.; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Estil Thompson and his wife Shirley, Nevada, Mo.; one sister, Margaret Ketterman, Nevada, Mo.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Minnie Thompson; two brothers, Ameriman Thompson and Ennis Thompson; and one sister, Jenny Lee Jadlot.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at Ferry Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
