Richard "Dick" Naas

Richard "Dick" Naas, 63, of Hemple, Mo., died Sat. Jan. 3, 2004, at his home.

He was born on Dec. 20, 1940, to Donald and Catherine (Lochner) Naas in Kankakee, Ill. He grew up in Herscher, Ill., where he graduated from high school.

On June 2, 1962, he married Karen Chouinard. After their marriage they lived in Kankakee, Ill., and in 1970 they moved to rural Hemple where they made their home.

Dick was a self-employed home builder for many years. He worked for the Platte County school system as a custodian, and later for the East Buchanan School District as the maintenance supervisor for 10 years.

He was a member of the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church in Gower.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Wayne Naas.

He is survived by his wife, Karen, of the home; three sons, Dan Naas, Gower, Mo., David Naas, Plymouth, Ind., and Chuck Naas, Nevada, Mo.; five grandchildren; four brothers, Bob, Roger, Alan and Clay Naas; and two sisters, Diane Essington, and Kathy Ingwersen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Jan. 6, at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, Mo. Donations may be made to the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church Building Fund.
