Paul Hendrix

Paul Hendrix, 68, Nevada, Mo., passed away Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at his residence following a brief illness. He was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Nevada, Mo., to William Henry Hendrix and Bessie Wilhemina Koehler Hendrix. He was married Nov. 3, 1956, in Nevada, Mo., to Earlene Bell. She survives of the home.

Mr. Hendrix was raised in Nevada, Mo., and graduated from Nevada High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict on the U.S.S. Shangri-La. He worked at the 3-M plant in Nevada for 15 years until his retirement due to his health. He was a member of the Community Christian Church and also a member of the Senior Men's' Golf League at the Frank E. Peters Golf Course in Nevada.

Survivors in addition to his wife Earlene include two daughters, Pamela Greenlee and her husband Lyndon, Nevada, Mo., and Kimberly Lorenzen and her husband Brett, Nixa, Mo.; three grandchildren, Chadd, Caty and Haley; eight brothers, Don Hendrix, Kansas City, Kan., Gordon Hendrix and Lloyd Hendrix, both of Nevada, Mo., Jack Hendrix, Platte City, Mo., Carl Hendrix, Oklahoma City, Okla., Larry Hendrix, Walker, Mo., Roger Hendrix, Wichita, Kan., Stanley Hendrix, Neodesha, Kan.; four sisters, Martha O'Connor, Rich Hill, Mo., Rosalee Kelley, Nevada, Mo., Bonnie Powell, St. Louis, Mo., Mary Ellen Kimberling, Overland Park, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Herman, Louis, William, Robert, Joe and James Hendrix and one sister, Anna Mae Garske.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo., with the Rev. Wes Anderson officiating. Musical selections were "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and " I'll Fly Away." Pallbearers were Steve Moss, Bob Seaver, John McKinley, Bruce Bunn, Kevin McKinley and Howard Butler. Honorary pallbearers were Bernine Wooldridge, John Moorhouse, Harold Kenney, Kenny Wescoat, Dick Staihr, Jim Shannon, Dee Cole and Dave Grubb. Interment, with full military honors provided by Missouri National Guard Juliet Team, will be at Newton Burial Park in Nevada.
