Lee B. Hill

Lee B. Hill, 56, Nevada, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2004, at Christian Health Care in Nevada following a long battle with cancer. She was born April 11, 1947, in Providence, R.I., to Rodgers Carr Broomhead and Nancy Beth Schuyler Broomhead.

Hill graduated from Redwood High School in Larkspur, Calif., and San Francisco State University with a degree in Physical Anthropology. She also was a graduate from the Cordon Bleu Cooking School Extension in Menlo Park, Calif. She completed two years of private culinary classes and she owned and operated a successful catering company (Carr's) in Dallas, Texas, for 11 years. In 1999, she moved to Nevada where she was employed by National Prearranged Services and she was associated with Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo. She was an active member of the Nevada Soroptomist Club and attended the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her parents, Rodgers Carr and Nancy Schuyler Broomhead; one son, Carson Daniel Kelly and his wife, Shannon; two grandchildren, Zoe and Indigo; Carson's father (first husband of Mrs. Hill) Daniel Kelly; two sisters, Susan B. Kennedy and her husband, Tom, and Beth Wyatt and her husband, Mark; two brothers, Calvin Broomhead and his wife, Kathleen, and Bud Broomhead and his wife, Jan; nine nieces, one nephew and Mrs. Hill's second husband, David Hill.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 4, at the First Presbyterian Church, Nevada, Mo., with the Rev. Greg Ferree officiating. Her ashes will be interred at the Sunset Cemetery in El Cerrito, Calif. Arrangements by Ferry Funeral Home.
