Richard Leroy "Harp" Carter

Richard Leroy "Harp" Carter, 55, Nevada, Mo., died March 15, 2004, in Limon, Colo. He was born on Aug. 5, 1948, in Nevada, Mo., to Wilice Velman Harp and Clara Leona Hamlett Harp Buckner.

He was a truck driver, and a Baptist.

He is survived by one son, Richard Leroy Carter, Jr.; two daughters; three sisters, Gail Smith, Joplin, Mo., Chrystal Anson, Nevada, Mo., and Connie Grant, Beile Plaine, Kan.; and one half-brother, Vernon Howrey, Nevada, Mo.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 21, at Evergreen Memorial Chapel in Nevada, Mo., with Brother Keily Kiger officiating. Interment will follow in Richland Cemetery in Richards, Mo. Family visitation will be on Saturday, March 20, at the Evergreen Memorial Chapel. Memorials are suggested to either the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
