Alphanzo Lee "Bud" Bunker Jr.

Alphanzo Lee "Bud" Bunker Jr., 47, Kansas City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2004, in Kansas City, Mo., following a lengthy illness. He was born July 8, 1956, in Nevada, Mo., to Alphanzo Lee Bunker Sr., and Margaret Ann Karhoff Bunker.

Bud was born in Nevada and attended St. Mary's School. He graduated from East High School in Kansas City, Mo. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Navy for eight years as a hospital corpsman. After the Navy, he took LPN training and later worked for Truman Medical Center for eight years. He continued his schooling in the education field and did some teaching before ill health prevented further duties.

Survivors include two sisters, Elaine Letze and her husband Terry, Des Moines, Iowa, and Alice Maria Bunker, Overland Park, Kan.; one nephew, Michael Letze and his wife, Mandy, Buckner, Mo.; one great-niece, Kaitlin Letze, Buckner, Mo.; one foster sister, Tammy Barnett and her husband, David, and children, Kansas City, Mo.; two aunts, Mary Alice Wilson and her husband Stanley, Sheldon, Mo., and Frances Beisly, Nevada, Mo.; also several cousins and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, April 12, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Nevada, with the Rev. Anthony Pileggi officiating. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo, Mo. Friends may call now and until noon Monday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo. Rosary services will be held at 6 p.m., Sunday, April 11, at the funeral home.
