Raymond Hughes Jr., 57, Thornfield, Mo., died Feb. 2, 2005. He was born Aug. 9, 1947, in Walker, the son of Raymond Hughes Sr. and Doris Jeanell (Heddinger) Hughes. He married Cliffy Eagar in December 1992, in Brown Branch, Mo.

He was a resident of Thornfield, Mo., for the past 12 years moving from Brixey, Mo. He was employed as an electrician. He served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ava, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Cliffy, of the home, Thornfield, Mo.; eight children, Debbie Robertson, Mountain Grove, Mo., Kim Walker, Ava, Mo., Cody Hughes, Hartville, Mo., Heidi Hughes, Boston, Mass., Jon Hughes, Branson, Mo., Ashley Hughes, Thornfield, Mo., Fraley Smith, Shreveport, La., and Patricia Pickering, Boyce, La.; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Leroy Hughes, Lamar, Robert Hughes and Ron Hughes both of Nevada; and a host of other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 5, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ava, Mo., with the Bishop Jerry Brown officiating. Interment will be in the Green Mound Cemetery, Harwood. Visitation will be Friday 6:30 p.m., in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo. Services under direction of Clinkingbeards of Ava.
