Clyde Albert "Max" Hillsman

Clyde Albert "Max" Hillson, 87, Lamar, formerly of Schell City, died Feb. 7, 2005, at Barton County Memorial Hospital in Lamar. He was born Dec. 16, 1917, the son of William Albert and Florence Edna (Endicott) Hillsman. He married Anna Mae Hammond on Nov. 10, 1998.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the Lamar Christian Church, the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae, of the home; two brothers, Jim Hillsman, Warrensburg, Mo., and Clark Hillsman, El Dorado Springs; three step children, Carolyn Rosenberry, Kokomo, Ind., Jeanie Fowler, Sheldon, and Steve Hammond, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 11, at Schell City Christian Church, with Doug Oakes officiating. Interment will be in Green Lawn Cemetery in Schell City. Pallbearers will be Eddie Fowler, Lyle Rosenberry, Leroy Swopes, Jeremy Fowler, Steve Hammond and Ron Tucker. Family visitation will be 10-11 a.m., prior to the service at the Schell City Christian Church. Memorials are suggested to the Schell City Christian Church or the Lamar First Christian Church in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home in Schell City.
