Ruth Elizabeth Mace

Ruth Elizabeth Mace, 83, Nevada, died Sunday, March 13, 2005, at Barone Alzheimer's Care Center, Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born Feb. 27, 1922, in St. Louis, to Forrest Calvin Horton and Almeda May Smith Horton. She and Donald Mace were married on April 6, 1962, in Erin, Miss.

She was born and raised in St. Louis. She worked for many years for McDonnell Douglas, Federal Pacific Electric, and K-Mart, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors in addition to her husband, Donald, include two sons, Daniel Oliver, Hillsboro, Mo., and Kenneth Oliver, Florissant, Mo.; one daughter, Donna Martin, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Robert Horton, St. Charles, Mo.; four sisters, Jane Christian, St. Louis, Audrey Custer, Nevada, Joyce Glassey, Tannington, Mo., and Nelva Stenger, Campbell, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one daughter.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, at the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, Nevada, with Bishop Ammon Hizer officiating. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, at the Ozark Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rolla, Mo. Friends may call now and until 9 a.m. on Wednesday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. The family receives friends 5:30-7 p.m. on today, March 15, at the funeral home.
