Amy Irene Young

Amy Irene Young, the daughter of Berley Samuel and Cora Bernice Wallace Loveall, was born July 15, 1918, in Vernon County and passed away on Monday, May 9, 2005, at Christian Healthcare, at 86 years of age.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth Young on Feb. 18, 1939, at the Centenary Methodist Church in Nevada and he preceded her in death on March 12, 1995. Mrs. Young was a homemaker. She was an expert seamstress and loved working with crafts. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and worked as a volunteer for the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Maxine Simpson of Nevada; one nephew, Michael Flieg, of the state of Oklahoma; one niece, Nola Hartzfeld, of Nevada; two great-nephews, James Hartzfeld, of Atlanta, Ga., and Kendall Hartzfeld of Nevada; one great-niece, Kim McNeley, of Kansas City, Mo.; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by one sister, Le Etta Flieg.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday May 13, at Evergreen Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Newton Burial Park. There will be no visitation.
