Walter C. "Bud" Huppe

Walter C. "Bud" Huppe, 84, Nevada, died May 8, 2005, at his residence following a brief illness.

He was born April 21, 1921, in Longmont, Colo., to Walter C. Huppe Sr. and Florence E. Waite Huppe. He was married July 13, 1956, in Grover, Colo., to Grace J. McCoy. She survives of the home.

He grew up in LaPorte, Colo., and graduated from LaPorte High School in 1939. He owned and operated a dairy farm from the late 1940s to 1971 in Waverly, Colo. He and his family came to Missouri in 1971. He was self-employed and operated Huppe Janitor Service until his retirement in 2004.

In addition to his wife Grace, survivors include one son, Michael Huppe, Nevada; one daughter, Pat Brigman, Nevada; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lilly Snider, Ash Grove, Mo., Juanita Spencer, Longmont, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Frieda Foster, Florence Babcock and Birdie Simmons.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 14, at Newton Burial Park with Mike Satterlee officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday between 7--8 p.m.

Friends may call from now and until 9:30 a.m., Friday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Nevada Church of the Nazarene.
