Jeffrey Dean Uttinger, 39, Nevada, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, in Bates County, Mo.

He was born Nov. 23, 1965, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Raymond Lee Uttinger and Lenita Ellen Tucker Uttinger. He married Tana Colvin on May 1, 1999, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Nevada. She survives of the home.

He was born and raised in Fort Scott, Kan., and graduated from Fort Scott High School. He moved to Nevada in 1986 and spent the remainder of his life here. He made his living as a restoration specialist, restoring old buildings. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Tana, of the home, include two sons, Nathan Uttinger and Trentan Uttinger, both of the home; his mother, Lenita Baker, Fort Scott, Kan.; his father, Ray Uttinger, Springfield; his stepmother, Peggy Uttinger, Springfield; step-grandparents, Helen and Carl Secrest, Springfield; two sisters, Toni Felt, Fort Scott, Kan., and Lisa Manley, Topeka, Kan.; one stepsister, Terri Manley, Springfield; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 3, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Jerry Pyle officiating. Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada, MO 64772.
