Forest Leroy Fleener

Forest Leroy Fleener, 74, Sheldon, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., following an illness of a few weeks. He was born April 28, 1931, in Virgil City, Mo., to William E. Fleener and Sadie Mae Crane Fleener. He and Barbara Jean Cadman were married in 1954, in Nevada.

Forest was born and reared in the Virgil City area and spent most all of his life in Vernon County. He made his living in the retail grocery business. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Montevallo.

Survivors include two sons, Randall Fleener, Titusville, Fla., Larry Fleener, Mulberry, Kan.; one daughter, Kathi Adams, Nevada; seven grandchildren, Justin Ryan Adams, Lisa Church, and Steven Fleener, all of Nevada, Melissa Smith, Lamar, Mo., Billy Nelson, Sheldon, Mike Fleener, and Toni Fleener; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Fleener, Independence, Mo., one sister, Mildred McNeece, Milo, and also survived by Barbara Jean Diggins, Sheldon. He was preceded in death by five brothers.

Memorial Services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 29, at Perry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Shelby Brant officiating. Memorials contributions can be made to the Neighbors Center in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
