Arline Higgins Winship

Arline Higgins Winship, 62, Nevada, Mo., passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at her home in Nevada following a sudden illness. She was born May 7, 1943, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Charley Edgar Higgins and Jennie Victoria Tucker Higgins. She married David Dean Winship on June 26, 1976, in Nevada. He preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 2005.

Arline was born in Fort Scott. She grew up in Richards and graduated from Nevada High School. She worked for over 15 years at Western Insurance in Fort Scott. She operated a daycare in Nevada for many years. Arline has worked for Little Elves Cleaning Service for the past five years. She enjoyed gardening and raising her flowers.

Survivors include two brothets, Melvin Higgins, Richards, Mo. and Clyde Higgins, Fort Scott; three sisters, Jennie Bell Burch, Eugene, Ore., Ida Lee Daniels, Nevada, and Thelma Wolfe, Deerfield, Mo., plus numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three sisters, Gladys Goddard, Lenora Higgins, and Leta Higgins.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with John Nichols officiating. The family receives friends 10-11 a.m., Monday at Ferry Funeral Home and friends may call now and until 11 a.m., Monday at the funeral home.
