Virginia M. Noel

Virginia M. Noel, 69 years, of Noel, Mo., departed this life on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, in her home. Virginia was born on Feb. 12, 1936, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., daughter of the late Johnnie W. and Bessie (Ware) Troyer. She was reared in the El Dorado Springs and the Walker communities in Cedar County, Mo. On Oct. 12, 1967, in Ottawa, Kan., she was united in marriage to Floyd D. Noel and together they shared 28 years before his passing.

They made their home in Lawrence, Kan., for several years where Virginia was employed by Packer Plastics. In 1985 the family moved to Noel, Mo. For more than 17 years she worked as a housekeeper at the Arthur Murray's Motel in Noel. She enjoyed craft projects, fishing, puzzles, and working in her flower beds.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Floyd on Feb. 9, 1996; two sons, Skip Noel, and Jimmy Tracy; two granddaughters, Jana Noel, and Kristina Dilbeck; and a brother, Earl Troyer.

Virginia is survived by three daughters, Pam Minter and husband, Jim, of Edwards, Mo., Rebecca Parra and husband, Ricardo, of Winfield, Kan., and Carolyn Trivitt and husband, Bill, of Noel, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Johnnie Troyer of Shawnee Kan.; a sister, Donna Batsell of Nevada, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Virginia M. Noel are 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, in the Ozark Funeral Home Chapel in Noel, Mo., with Chaplin Jeff D. Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Noel Cemetery. Henry Griffith, Isaac Horton, Virgil Foust, Rick Mitchell, Joseph Hawkins, and Tim Rightsell will honor Virginia's life by serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Foust, Wayne Johnson, Bob Merkel, Larry Hughes, Jerry Fuller, and Roger Zeorlin.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., on Friday in the funeral home chapel. A memorial has been established and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
