Violet Elizabeth Carroll

Violet Elizabeth Carroll, 82, Rich Hill, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, at Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada, Mo., following a lengthy illness. She was born May 29, 1923, in Rich Hill, to Henry Leslie Bledsoe and Nettie Wyrick Bledsoe. She married Joseph Fay Carroll on Dec. 12, 1945, in Fort Scott, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1969.

Violet grew up in Bates County. She attended school in Bates County and Schell City, Mo. She had worked for Bosch Embroidery in Kansas City, Mo., for a time. Violet has lived most of her adult life in Nevada and worked for Nevada State Hospital.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie Allen, Nevada, and Linda Coletti, Carrollton, Texas; cousin and companion, Virgil Wyrick, of the home in Rich Hill; six grandchildren, Denny Allen, Richard Allen, Ronnie Radke, Randy Radke, Russell Radke, and Tina Allen; seven great-grandchildren, Joey Thiessin, Jonathan Cullison, Elizabeth Cullison, Brenna Allen, Ely Allen, April Radke, and Tyler Radke; one great-great-granddaughter, Emalee Store; four brothers, Amos Bledsoe, Howard Bledsoe, Don Bledsoe, and Robert Bledsoe. She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, two sisters, and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 14, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Ed Post officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 7-8 p.m., on Friday at the funeral home.
