Joseph Delmar Thatch, 91, Carthage, Mo., formerly of Nevada, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, at McCune Brooks Hospital in Carthage following a brief illness.

He was born June 25, 1914, in Sugar Creek, Mo., to Delmar G. Thatch and Emma Bell Vest Thatch. He married Velma "Sue" Thatch on Dec. 11, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo. She preceded him in death on Feb. 13, 2004.

Joe grew up in Jackson County, Mo. He spent most of his adult life in Vernon County where he operated a variety of businesses. He has lived in Carthage the past nine years. He was a member of the Covenant World Outreach Church.

Survivors include one nephew, Del Thatch, Lamar, Mo.; two nieces, Charlene Thatch, Belton, Mo., and Deborah Samek, Ozark, Mo.; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, Jan. 23, at Covenant World Outreach Church in Carthage, with J.P. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Rockville Cemetery, Drexel, Mo. Friends may call now and until 8:30 a.m., Monday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo.
