Daniel George LaDue Sr.

Daniel George LaDue Sr., was born on March 18, 1932, in Hartville, Mo., to Helen Corinne Craig LaDue and Thomas Markham LaDue. He was a member of the Odin Baptist Church. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 8, 2006, after a short illness.

He married Andree Marie-Jeanne Billette on May 6, 1955, in Btain, France. He served in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1973 after 24 years of service. While in the Air Force he traveled the world, serving in the Korean War. Later as an Air Police Officer he served in Italy, Germany, France, and Hamilton Air Base in California, Winnemucca and Las Vegas, Nev. He transferred to Joplin in 1968, to serve as an Air Force Recruiter.

He was an active member of the Joplin Elks Lodge, and the Joplin Lion's Club. He worked with the Joplin Catholic Schools and the local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He coached Joplin little league. He was an active golfer at Marbrook Country Club for many years. He was also an active "Mall-Walker" for the last 10 years.

Following his retirement, frorn the Air Force, he opened Shamrock Bolt and Screw Company in Joplin, retiring in December of 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Andree, Joplin; children, Dan and Carlene LaDue of Carl Junction, Mo., Charles and Christy LaDue of Joplin, Mary LaDue and John Stoeckl of Broken Arrow, Okla; grandchildren, Jason and Amy LaDue of Joplin, Chuck, Sean, and Mathew LaDue of Joplin, Colby and Meleony Newman of Monterey, Calif., Dartielle LaDue of Carl Junction, Jennifer McCowan of Joplin, Sophia and Johann Stoeckl of Broken Arrow; two great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren on the way. Siblings are June Henson and Helen Armstrong of Nevada, Mo., and Sam LaDue of Golden, Colo. He was preceded in death by both parents, and brothers, Gerald, Ratty, and Thomas LaDue.

Funeral services were Tuesday, April 11, at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Webb City with the Rev. James Kerr Sr. and Joseph Liem officiating. Interment will followed in Mt. Hope Cemetery with full Military Rites. Pallbearers were Jenny McCowan, Jason LaDue, Chuck LaDue, Tony LaDue, Sean LaDue, and Mathew LaDue.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Joplin Area Catholic Schools.
