Cleota R. Kerr, 92, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada, following a brief illness. She was born April 18, 1914, in Oklahoma. She married Leo F. Kerr on June 8, 1930, in Carthage, Mo. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1972.

Cleota came to Nevada with her family at a young age. Her family operated the ARBO Theater for a number of years. Her husband began operating Nevada Radio and Refrigeration in 1928. Following her husband's death in 1971, she continued to operate the store until the early 1990's. Cleota was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nevada, an avid bowler and member of Women's International Bowling Congress, a member of BPW, and an Elk Doe.

Survivors include one son, Edward Kerr and his wife Charliss, Kansas City, Mo.; one grandson, Jess Kerr and his wife Michelle, Nixa, Mo.; one granddaughter, Lauren Churchman and her husband David, Kansas City, Mo.; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 16, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Nevada, with Celebrant, Father Joe Orthel officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Milford, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Rosary services will be held 6-7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 15, at the funeral home.
