Suzy Smith

Suzy Smith, 66, Nevada, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at her home in Nevada. She was born Sept. 10, 1940, in Nevada, to Edwin Wayne Spillman and Ruby Helen Pryor Spillman. She married Ron C. Smith on July 23, 1960, in Nevada, and he survives of the home.

Suzy grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1958. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority at Southwest Missouri State College, Springfield, Mo. Suzy worked for the Nevada R-5 schools for 20 years and later for the Nevada Medical Clinic for four years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Nevada Country Club.

Survivors in addition to her husband Ron, include one daughter, Shelly Adams and her husband Dave, Blue Springs, Mo.; one son, Jeff Smith and his wife Amy, Nevada; four grandchildren, Ryan Adams, Nevada, Hillary Adams, Liberty, Mo., Dillon Smith and Cooper Smith, both of Nevada; her mother, Ruby Spillman, Laguna, Calif.; two sisters, Linda Edmiston and her husband Jack, Nevada, and Judy Thomson of California; one brother, Steve Spillman and his wife Janice, also of California; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Teel, Rich Hill, Mo.; mother-in-law, Edoline Smith, Nevada; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 20, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Ralph Clark officiating. Those who wish may contribute to the YMCA in her memory in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
