Martin Oliver "M.O." Couch, 77, Bronaugh, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, at his home in Bronaugh following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 1, 1929, in Bronaugh, to Clyde Vernon Couch and Nellore Ann Packer Couch. He married Pauline Boatright on May 25, 1947, in Bronaugh, and she survives.

M.O. was a graduate of Bronaugh High School in 1947 and a lifelong resident of Bronaugh. He farmed all his life and was still active in farming. He was a member of the Bronaugh Christian Church, the Herman Masonic Lodge No. 187, Liberal, Mo., the Scottish Rite of Fort Scott, Kan., and Abou Ben Adhem Shrine, Springfield, Mo.

In addition to his wife Pauline of Nevada, survivors include two sons, David Couch and his wife, Connie, Bronaugh, and Phil Couch, Moundville; six grandchildren, Susan Versluis, Neosho, Mo., Greg Couch, Bronaugh, Corey Couch, Nevada, Staci Andersen, Nevada, Brandi "B.J." Goodell, Moundville, and Tiffani Swarnes, Webb City, Mo.; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Jean Couch, in 1965; his parents; one brother, Howard Couch; and two sisters, Wilma Lightner and Thelma Gulliford.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with John Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Worsley Cemetery, Bronaugh. Friends may call now and until the hour of service. A Masonic Service will be held at 6, tonight, Oct. 31, at the funeral home with visitation following from 6:30-8 p.m.
