Leah L. Modrcin, 86, of Lemoore, Calif., died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at the Hacinda Rehabilitation Center in Hanford, Calif. Leah was born May 10, 1920, in Bates County, Mo., to Samuel and Mattie Newberry Rousseau.

She worked as a secretary for the Boilermakers Union for 18 years, retiring in 1983. She attended Sunset Hills Christian Church and volunteered at the Shepherd's Center. She loved square dancing and was a member of several square dance clubs.

She is survived by a son, Robert McCoy; grandson, Kevin McCoy; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 11, at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Monday at the Newton Burial Park, Nevada. The family suggests memorials to the Shepherd's Center of Kansas City, 21 N. 12th St. Kansas City, KS 66102.
