Joseph Thomas Jones, 92, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, at Barone Alzheimer's Care Center. He was born June 13, 1914, in Nevada, to Clarence Jones and Maude Williams Jones.

Tom grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1933. He entered the U.S. Army in February 1942, and served until Oct. 1945. He was a ground crew chief on the B-25 bomber. He served in England, South Africa and in the European Theatre of War. Following the service, he owned and operated Tom's Place and Tom's Liquors, in Nevada for more than 20 years.

Survivors include one half-brother, Bennie Banks, Nevada; one half-sister, Mamie Counts, Marshall, Mo.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Stark; one brother, Lawrence Jones, and one half-brother, Joe Banks.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 14, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until 1:30 p.m., Thursday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
